On October 23, Tencent Automotive learned that Audi China has recently obtained Beijing T3 level autonomous driving test license to conduct autonomous driving technology tests on public roads in Beijing.

       It is understood that after the license, on the basis of the original test scenarios will be doubled, the test road authority will be further increased. The T3 level automatic driving test license is issued to Audi China by Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau highway Traffic Administration.

        "Audi is always at the forefront of future mobility issues such as autonomous driving and intelligent connected car technology, especially in the area of technology specifically developed for China's transport conditions," said Andy Ahn, President of Audi China. "Audi China's previous testing activities within the Scope of the T1 class license are strong evidence of Audi's maturity and advancement in the relevant technology sector. We are very honored to receive the T3 level test license, and we will further deepen our cooperation with Beijing municipal authorities, focusing on the unique needs of Chinese consumers and helping the development of China's auto industry."

       With the new test license, Audi test vehicles will be able to conduct L4 autonomous driving tests on more than 180 public roads in Beijing, with a total road length of more than 650 kilometers.

       It is understood that based on the modification of the new generation of Audi Q8 test vehicles, the test scenarios of T3 class test license plate are doubled compared with T1 class license plate, including the simulation of alfalfa leaf overpass, through the island loop, in and out of the main road and other scenarios.

       Audi is the first Chinese manufacturer to launch the L4 autonomous driving and v2X-based road-car collaboration demonstration in an actual highway scenario. Audi once demonstrated the L4 autonomous driving and V2X vehicle-road collaboration of a fleet of passenger vehicles on a closed section of Beijing's Long Sublime Expressway.
