Toyota recalls 380000 cars in the United States

Publish Date: 2024.03.04

According to Reuters, on March 1st, Toyota announced the recall of approximately 381000 trucks in the United States due to axle issues that could increase the risk of collisions.

According to a document submitted by Toyota to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the models involved in this recall are the 2022 and 2023 Tacoma models, The specific reason is that welding fragments left at the end of the rear axle assembly during the production process may cause certain fixing nuts to loosen and eventually detach over time

According to reports, Toyota dealerships will inspect the rear axle assembly and tighten the axle fixing nuts again. If necessary, damaged axle components may be repaired or replaced. According to Toyota, they have not yet received any reports of warranty claims or on-site reports of related accidents.

Last October, Toyota discovered an issue involving the axle housing and subsequently launched an investigation into this issue. Toyota stated that during the investigation, Toyota's suppliers discovered issues while inspecting the completed axle assembly.

According to Reuters, Toyota has issued three recalls in the United States in the past two weeks, including a recall of 280000 2022-2024 Tundra, Tundra hybrid version, Lexus LX600, and 2023-2024 Sequoia hybrid vehicles The reason is that the vehicle may experience issues when in neutral and without applying the brakes      Toyota will solve this problem through software updates.
