On May 13, Nissan Motor Corporation announced the mid-term progress of the company's four-year "Nissan NEXT Enterprise Transformation Plan" and announced the next phase of development plans, including:
By 2026, the proportion of electric vehicles will increase to 40%;
· Develop low-cost cobalt-free lithium-ion batteries for next-generation pure electric vehicles;
· Build a pilot plant in Yokohama, Japan in fiscal 2024 to produce Nissan's original all-solid-state battery (ASSB);
Expanding the EV Hub model from the UK to core markets such as Japan, China and the US;
Production of two new all-electric models at Canton Plant in Mississippi, USA
Expanding the ability to reuse EV batteries through 4R Energy Corp.'s dedicated facilities in the U.S., Europe and Japan;
· By fiscal year 2026, more than 2.5 million vehicles under the Nissan and Infiniti brands will be equipped with ProPILOT technology;
By the mid-2020s, advance the latest driver assistance technologies, including next-generation LiDAR (LIDAR) technologies that can effectively avoid collision risks.

Regarding the "Nissan NEXT Enterprise Transformation Plan", public information shows that Nissan announced in May 2020 that it aims to rationalize production capacity, optimize operations, prioritize core markets, and focus on core models and core technologies, while restoring the vitality of the business foundation.
In the first two years of the launch of the "Nissan NEXT Enterprise Transformation Plan", Nissan has strengthened its ability to cope with unprecedented mobility changes and global market turmoil by rationally planning production capacity, optimizing product lineup, and streamlining its global management structure. At the same time, it effectively improves the company's break-even point and reduces material costs.
And while consolidating the business foundation, it promotes the company to steadily advance the long-term development process of electric drive and the goal of carbon neutrality. Nissan will further strengthen its focus on future growth opportunities and revitalize its business through continuous cultural transformation.
The specific results are as follows:
1) “Rationalization” measures enhance corporate agility and increase sustainable profitability
20% reduction in global production capacity;
The global product line is rationally optimized by 15%, allowing the company to devote more resources to more competitive models;
The global management structure is simplified into four core markets, forming a more streamlined and responsive organizational structure;
Reduced fixed costs by 350 billion yen (about 18.15 billion yuan1), a 17% increase from the original target of 300 billion yen.
2) "Priority and focus" improves the quality of operations and promotes innovation
· Driven by core products and technologies, the company has built a sustainable foundation for long-term growth in core markets (US, Japan, China and Europe);
Launched 12 new models within 18 months, of which the Nissan Ariya opened a new chapter for Nissan's technological innovation and electric vehicle development;
Improved operating quality, with an 18% increase in net revenue per bike, helping the company achieve a 2% operating margin in fiscal 2021.
3) Lay the foundation for future growth
Continue to implement cultural transformation initiatives that include corporate purpose, diversity, equality and inclusion, strengthen corporate governance, and practice sustainable development;
Published 2050 carbon neutrality goals and Nissan Ambition 2030;
Through the "Alliance 2030 Vision (Alliance 2030)", by 2026, the utilization rate of the common platform among alliance member companies will increase to 80%;
Established the "Nissan EV36Zero Electric Drive Ecosystem" in the UK to create a 360-degree zero-emission solution;
Fully open the "Nissan Intelligent Factory" to produce next-generation models to help the company achieve carbon neutrality in its global manufacturing plants by 2050.

It is understood that through the "Nissan NEXT Enterprise Transformation Program", Nissan's net income per vehicle in the US market increased by 19%; the new Note model sold in the Japanese market and the new Qashqai sold in the European market both increased by 38%.
