Hyundai’s first mass-produced car from an electric brand makes its debut, IONIQ 5 will enter the Chinese market

       In 2020, in order to meet the electrification era, Hyundai Motor released its brand new exclusive brand IONIQ (艾尼氪) for pure electric vehicles. Today, the brand's first mass-produced car IONIQ 5 debuted. This car will be available in the first half of this year. Regional listings are expected to enter the Chinese market in the future.

        IONIQ 5 is a pure electric medium-sized CUV based on E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform), a dedicated platform for electric vehicles of Hyundai Motor Group, which is a multi-purpose vehicle developed with a car chassis as a design platform.

        Judging from the debut of IONIQ 5, the shape design of the car reflects the modern "Parametric Dynamics" design concept, and the overall shape is more recognizable. In terms of interior design, IONIQ 5 implements the theme of "Living Space". One of the most distinctive features is the removable central armrest box-"Universal Island", which slides backwards up to 140mm, and the fully flat floor for storing the battery below, together to create the ultimate car for passengers to move freely.内空间.


        As an electric vehicle, the IONIQ 5 battery pack has two configurations of 58kWh or 72.6kWh, and it is equipped with two drive motor layouts of rear motor or front and rear dual motors. Different PE system configurations have excellent endurance, and the maximum speed can reach 185km/h. At the same time, the car has a breakthrough in providing an optional environmentally friendly solar roof, that is, collecting solar energy and passing it to the battery pack as the vehicle's power source, thereby improving energy efficiency. Solar car roof to reduce battery power consumption and extend the cruising range.

       In addition, in order to ensure a better endurance performance in the cold winter, IONIQ 5 is equipped with a heat pump system, which uses the waste heat generated by the drive motor and other electrical components to heat the interior of the car, minimizing the power consumption of the battery. Equipped with a two-wheel drive long-range IONIQ 5 model equipped with 72.6kWh, the maximum range of a single charge can reach 600km under the NEDC standard.

       Hyundai Motor revealed that IONIQ 5 will be launched in some regions from the first half of 2021 and will be officially introduced to the Chinese market in the future.
