The Shangjie H5, as the only model in the HarmonyOS family that can win full Huawei assisted driving for less than 200000 yuan, has once again seen a wave of hot sales during the National Day holiday, with weekly sales reaching 5500 units. In the past, there were not many models that could achieve global navigation assisted driving for just over 100000 yuan, mainly because models in this price range usually did not come equipped with LiDAR, which is required for the majority of urban assisted driving solutions from domestic manufacturers. So the Xiaopeng MONA M03, which can achieve global navigation assistance by taking a visual route, became popular at the beginning of this year because users in this price range do not have many choices. Now, domestic manufacturers have chosen to invest in hardware, not only adding models like Shangjie H5 and Lynk&Co 07EM-P that can achieve excellent all-round navigation assistance experience in the tens of thousands of yuan price range, but also iterating stronger hardware architecture to achieve better assisted driving experience in mid to high end models. Next, we will show you the hardware architecture of the popular brand's iterated assisted driving system. A picture will help you understand who is the "stacking king" of domestic assisted driving.

In the millimeter wave column, those not labeled as "(4D)" are traditional 3D millimeter wave radars. It can be seen that the vast majority of manufacturers are beginning to install 4D millimeter wave radar on vehicles. Traditional millimeter wave radar can measure the distance, horizontal orientation, and radial velocity of a target object, but the problem is that it cannot recognize altitude information, and pedestrian bridges and ground are basically the same for it. On this basis, 4D millimeter wave radar adds altitude information, which can almost directly restore the environment through denser point clouds.

With altitude information, vehicles can more accurately distinguish the category of obstacles, reducing the probability of false triggering or missed detections. Meanwhile, due to the working principle of millimeter wave radar using electromagnetic waves for surveying, 4D millimeter wave radar can penetrate rain, fog, and dust to a certain extent, becoming an important defense line for assisted driving systems in the face of adverse weather conditions.

Volume hardware numbers are also becoming increasingly popular in the field of assisted driving. Especially for Huawei models, regardless of brand, the front facing LiDAR has a 192 line specification, and the combination of three 4D millimeter wave radars is even more generous. As a high-end brand, the model comes standard with 3 laser radars and over 30 integrated sensors. In this chart, the hardware configuration of the Lynk&Co Gemini is relatively ordinary, but considering the price range of the models and the upgrades of the new version compared to the old version, these two cars are still quite worthy of being listed. Manufacturers have assigned different configurations to models with different positioning within the same brand. The most obvious one is still the Huawei series, with a range of combinations from single LiDAR to 4 LiDAR, 3 4D millimeter wave to 5 4D millimeter wave. Jike 9X has also launched the currently available version of Qianli Haohan H7 and the futures version of Qianli Haohan H9. Among them, the hardware architecture of Jike 9X H9 is the most high-end in terms of quantity and variety on this list.

The hardware quantity is the most basic reference data when we choose a smart car, which can help us to judge its assisted driving ability to a certain extent. But the actual level of assisted driving functions still needs to be combined with software capabilities, and cannot be ranked by quantity. The good news is that domestic manufacturers are increasingly capable of exploring hardware, and in our actual testing, many hardware have proven that it is not just a decoration. For example, the 4D millimeter wave radar installed in Huawei models brings the ability of "negative obstacle recognition". When we drive the WENJIE M9 in reverse in a scene with a negative ditch behind, the WENJIE M9 will stably recognize and trigger the AEB brake to stop the vehicle.

The multi-sensor distribution also enables vehicles to achieve all-round perception. For example, during the recent experience of the Extreme Krypton 9X H7 version, it was found that it is more sensitive in avoiding obstacles such as two wheeled vehicles on the side, and the assisted driving experience is more reassuring. At the end, 'Stacking Materials' pressed the accelerator button for domestic assisted driving. Leading manufacturers have lowered the cost of luxury products such as LiDAR and 4D millimeter wave radar through large-scale applications, making the path of' technological equality 'for intelligent driving smoother and smoother. So how much does the amount of hardware in front of you have an impact on your car selection? Welcome to the comment section for communication.
